Miracle Healers, Faith Healers, and Prosperity Preachers
When Peter talked about being healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ was he referring to natural sicknesses? First the gospel of “Name It And Claim It,” is a lie. This same doctrine is also referred to as, “Blab It And Grab it!”
The preachers that teach sickness only comes upon the ones that lack faith or have sinned usually have flaws. Many of these preachers wear eyeglasses, contacts, have false teeth, or wear hairpieces. These deficiencies prove their teachings are false. According to them God heals everybody of everything except their eyes, their teeth, their hair growth and according to their preaching he defiantly has not healed them from the love of money.
Let us compare their teachings with the word of God!
For Example:
(Job 1:1 KJV) There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Was Job a sinner? No! What was the whole purpose of Job’s trail? God wanted to prove Job’s faithfulness, righteousness, and his love for God.
(James 1:12 KJV) Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Temptation - 3984. peira, pi'-rah; from the base of G4008 (through the idea of piercing); a test, i.e. attempt, experience:--assaying, trial.
(1 Pet 1:7 KJV) That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
One of the greatest examples of God testing someone is Job. However we will start in the New Testament with what Apostle Paul taught.
(2 Cor 12:5 KJV) Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. (2 Cor 12:6 KJV) For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. (2 Cor 12:7 KJV) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. (2 Cor 12:8 KJV) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. (2 Cor 12:9 KJV) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Cor 12:10 KJV) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Paul states that he takes pleasure in sicknesses, in reproaches, in persecutions, in necessities, in distresses for Christ sake. Everyone is going to be purged and will go through the fire. You are going to grow old, get aches and pains, bad joints, suffer the loss of love ones, and have shortages of necessities.
For me to realize that I am to rejoice that I am found worthy to be purged for the sake of Christ Jesus is a privilege. This is a privilege of a citizen of the Kingdom of God. In this world we are to count it all gain when we suffer for his name of Jesus Christ.
(James 1:2 KJV) My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
(Acts 5:40 KJV) And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. (Acts 5:41 KJV) And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
The ones under the prosperity doctrine would have quit at the first beating. They would have never overcome the persecutions that the early disciples suffered. The rapture doctrine keeps ones from believing that they will have to be purged and overcome great adversities.
This ungodly doctrine is failing millions and leaving them without hope. God controls all powers and when God allows Satan to try you through sickness and trails it is the same as God allowing Satan to try Job. In times of purging and trails will you curse God? God is given glory when your faith stands strong even in the worse of times.
We are going to deal with the facts that are recorded in the scriptures. Timothy had a stomach disease of some kind that was not healed. Paul told him to treat it by drinking a little wine. This stomach sickness came upon Timothy quit often.
(1 Tim 5:23 KJV) Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
Infirmities – 769. astheneia, as-then'-i-ah; from G772; feebleness (of body or mind); by impl. malady; mor. frailty:--disease, infirmity, sickness, weakness.
God absolutely does heal diseases and can heal any disease. God can use his powers to bless you through purging. God also uses his powers to curse the wicked by allowing diseases to come upon them. All powers are created by the Lord and are for the use of the Lord.
What Satan intended to become a curse to Job became the greatest blessing to ever happen in Job’s life. This pattern applies to all of God’s children. Everything that Satan uses to try and make you fall, when overcome through Christ Jesus, will only bless you as an overcomer.
Katrina, the hurricane, was the greatest curse to ever happen to most that lived in the Gulf area. I know to the ones that truly loved the Lord it will prove to be one of the greatest blessings of their life. Everyone will have many storms and temptations in their lives.
Jesus overcame every sin, persecution, temptations, and trail of life, as we are to do. His body, which is the Son of God, still is being purged.
(Mat 10:22 KJV) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
The love of God endureth all things in Christ Jesus. This means every persecutions and sickness is overcome by the love of God. It was only the love that Job had for God that gave him the strength to overcome everything that Satan could throw at him.
The hand of our living Lord and God Jesus Christ controls all of the Four Winds, which are the Four Horses or powers of God. These are the four spirits of heaven.
There is no power that has been made that can overcome the saints of God. This includes sickness, and persecutions. Think about what weapons that Satan tried to use against Job?
We overcome we are not men that run. We are not men that try and dodge the trails of life. We do not dodge tribulations we overcome tribulations through the power of the Holy Ghost. We overcome through the power of the love that we have for the word of God. We do not want to be taken out from the war we want to win the war. We are soldiers we are not deserters we do not run away from Satan we defeat Satan through the power of the Holy Ghost.
(Isa 54:16 KJV) Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. (Isa 54:17 KJV) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
As it happened to Job the ones that preach prosperity today accuse the ones that are suffering illnesses, persecutions, and trails. They say as Job’s friends said, “you sinned somehow.” People receive the lesson and purpose of what the book of Job is meant to teach the church.
It is a fact that there were times when Paul had to leave some sick. This was the will of God that they be not healed. God always has the final say. The powers of God, “FOUR HORSES OR FOUR WINDS,” can be used to bless you, curse you, or purge you. It sad to see people judge others giving false judgment as Job’s friends did.
God did not heal Trophimus and Paul left him sick at Miletum.
(2 Tim 4:20 KJV) Erastus abode at Corinth: but Trophimus have I left at Miletum sick.
We will use the verse that most people that are ignorant to the message of Job use when teaching that we have all been healed from physical diseases in the natural body. Will see that the primary topic of these sentences deal with sin (SPIITUAL SICKNESS) and not (NATURAL ILLNESSESS.)
(1 Pet 2:24 KJV) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Sin had blinded us and made us deaf we were dead in our sins. We needed to be healed from these spiritual infirmities.
(1 Pet 2:25 KJV) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
It is plan that Peter is using the scripture from the Book of Isaiah. We were in sheep as that had sinned and gone astray. By his stripes we were healed and our sins were forgiven.
Look at the healing that Jesus speaks of:
(Mat 13:15 KJV) For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Lets us look at the same verses in the Book of Peter that are in the Book of Isaiah:
(Isa 53:5 KJV) But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Jesus was wounded and bruised for our sins and it was by his stripes that these infirmities of our sins were healed. Again look at what the next verse says:
(Isa 53:6 KJV) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
The sins of the sheep, which was Israel and the iniquity of Israel, which all saints now are were healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ.
The ones that preach the rapture doctrine are cowards and not over comers. The Book of Revelation holds the blessings of the ones that overcome, sickness, persecutions, tribulations, afflictions, hatred, and the trails of this life.
Notice that the ones that have had their spiritual sight and hearing restored will overcome.
(Rev 2:7 KJV) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
(Rev 2:11 KJV) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.
(Rev 2:17 KJV) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
(Rev 2:26 KJV) And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
(Rev 3:5 KJV) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
(Rev 3:12 KJV) Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
(Rev 3:21 KJV) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
(Rev 21:7 KJV) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
The ones that teach prosperity, no sickness, no persecutions, no tribulation, and that there is nothing to overcome love the Rapture Theory. This theory is for the ones that are not soldiers and the ones that will not over come.
The false prophets do not know the word of God because they have not be healed by his stripes they are still blind and deaf. The true saints of God have always been purged and will continue to suffer for the true word of God as they always have.
(Acts 8:1 KJV) And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.
(2 Th 1:4 KJV) So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
(1 Tim 6:12 KJV) Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Saints I could add much more but I believe if you have been healed by his stripes you will understand and see the truth. Paul learned to be content and rejoice no matter whatever came his way. This happened unto Paul because of the things that he suffered for the cause of Christ Jesus.
(Phil 4:11 KJV) Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
