True Sabbath Another Day
It is important to teach truth. When teaching our children we must teach the true meaning of the Ten Commandments. Concerning the Ten Commandments they never were done away with but they are fulfilled in us through Christ Jesus. Anyone that teaches as some do that the Ten Commandments have been done away with is totally ignorant to the way that Jesus Christ fulfilled all of the law. This also includes the feast days, which have been fulfilled.
Jesus stated that if one even desires to break any of the Ten Commandments in his heart that he is guilty of committing sin. This fact in itself was a new teaching unto the Jews. Without the knowledge of this teaching the Ten Commandments could never have been nor could they ever be fulfilled within the body of Jesus Christ. First we always deal with the natural ways but from the natural types and shadows always come the spiritual truths that Jesus Christ wants us to understand.
It is the spiritual truths that we must teach our children so that they will know the truth of the word of God. Many children do not understand how that sport figures can become idols and that America is really suffering from the influence that these idols are having upon the young people of America. These sports figures have become great Gods unto our young people. Americans only seem to want to be entertained, even in the churches.
We must teach our children that it is the spiritual revelations that God wants his people to understand. If the heart is pure and has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ no desire to break any of the Ten Commandments will exist. Under the New Covenant it must not only relate in our natural behavior but our hearts must be free from the desire to commit such sins.
For example: I can steal, lie, commit adultery, etc. The fact is when we are born again through Jesus Christ we rest from the desires or lust of the flesh. Since the Old Man is dead the New Man is in the rest of Almighty God and free from sin. Where there is no condemnation there is rest from the torment of sin.
(Rom 8:1 KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The law is still in effect by the letter unto the unjust but they do not apply unto the saints that are pure of heart. These laws are now written within the hearts of the saints. No saint has the desire in the natural or in the spiritual to break the Ten Commandments. In the natural he will never kill, steal, lie, and etc. These desires have been removed from the hearts of the saints. When the inside is holy the flesh or outward man will obey the heart and we have the mind of Christ.
Most break the Ten Commandments in their hearts and destroy the righteousness of these laws in the spirit. Jesus Christ came to change the hearts of men. If the heart is changed by the Holy Ghost then the flesh has no power to bring us back under the letter of the law, which kills. When we are born again then the letter of the law is destroyed and the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us by the spirit of the living God.(2 Cor 3:6 KJV) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
No one that keeps the Sabbath today, Saturday or Sunday, really keeps the true Sabbath. All drive, cook, buy, sell, etc. Any day that is given unto the Lord is wonderful but every day is to be free from sin. We can only be free from sin and enter into the true Sabbath through Jesus Christ. This is the other rest or Sabbath that Jesus Christ talked about, which was another day his spiritual seventh day. Jesus Christ has redeemed us back unto his true Sabbath that was in the beginning when everything was good and without sin. This applies to the Saints only and not unto the unbelievers that are still subject unto the law.
Ten Commandments
1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
Sabbath means rest. Jesus did not give a permanent rest under the law but the Sabbath under the law was a type and shadow of the Sabbath or rest that would come under the New Covenant. Paul makes this fact plain in Hebrews. Paul plainly states that Jesus spoke of another rest other than the Sabbath of the law.
(Heb 4:8 KJV) For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
If we try to keep any one day of the week holy now then we miss the true rest that we are to have in Christ Jesus. Jesus stated: (Mat 11:28 KJV) Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
I praise the Lord Jesus Christ that he has given me sweet rest and peace from the troubles and cares of this world. Many people do not have the full sweetness of the peace and rest that we are to have in this life. They have not entered into a state where they are contented no matter whatsoever state that they are in. This truly is a rare rest that is accomplished by few in this life. This can be accomplished in Christ Jesus and should be.
(Phil 4:11 KJV) Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Man left God's rest when Adam sinned. which was an eternal rest. It is this same rest and Sabbath that we have been redeemed back to through Jesus our Christ. We are reigning with Jesus in the thousand year reign or one day of the Lord. Very few people understand the new creation and the six spiritual days of this creation.
(Col 3:10 KJV) And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
(2 Pet 3:13 KJV) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. As our mind is renewed we realize that the true rest is Jesus Christ, which is the King of peace and rest. The true Sabbath we enter into when we are born again. Jesus Christ is our Sabbath. Saturday was a type and shadow of another day or rest that would be fulfilled in Jesus Christ. This is the true Sabbath or rest that Paul states that we can enter into when he wrote the Book of Hebrews.
There is no doubt that the seventh spiritual day is the Sabbath Day. The true Sabbath is another day, which is the day of the Lord not a natural day. The Roman Catholic's teach Sunday, natural day, as the Sabbath, which never was or ever will be. However the true Sabbath is a holy life everyday in Jesus Christ. The true Sabbath is an eternal day in Jesus Christ the one and only rest.
(Rom 14:5 KJV) One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
Jesus Christ kept the law for he was born under it so that he could fulfill it. The seventh natural day was the Sabbath unto God under the law. Since there was not an eternal day under the law it served its purpose to bring us unto the eternal Sabbath, which is Jesus Christ. This is the other day that Jesus Christ spoke of. This is what Paul teaches in the Book of Hebrews. He that believes in Jesus Christ will never die; the day is eternal.
(Heb 4:8 KJV) For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. (Heb 4:9 KJV) There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. (Heb 4:10 KJV) For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
We have truly been redeemed in everyway by Jesus Christ our Lord! We are in this world but we are of another nation and we are of another day, which is the day of the Lord. Christians, as a whole, need to quit living beneath their privileges. Please come unto Jesus Christ and he truly will give you rest, which is the true Sabbath of our savior and our God.
